Is it then a slight woe to love Thee not?

그렇다면 당신을 사랑하지 않는 것이 작은 슬픔에 불과한 것입니까?

Oh! for Thy mercies' sake, tell me, O Lord my God, what Thou art unto me.

오! 당신의 자비를 위하여, 나의 주 나의 하나님이시여, 당신이 나에게 무엇인지 말씀하여 주소서.

Say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.

내 영혼에게 말씀하소서, 나는 네 구원이라고.

So speak, that I may hear.

내가 들을 수 있도록 그렇게 말씀하소서.

Behold, Lord, my heart is before Thee; open Thou the ears thereof, and say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.

보소서, 주님, 내 마음이 당신 앞에 있나이다; 그 귀를 열어 주시고, 내 영혼에게 말씀하소서, 나는 네 구원이라고.

After this voice let me haste, and take hold on Thee.

이 목소리를 따라 내가 서둘러 당신을 붙잡게 하소서.

Hide not Thy face from me.

당신의 얼굴을 내게서 숨기지 마소서.

Let me die--lest I die--only let me see Thy face.

내가 죽게 하소서--죽지 않기 위하여--오직 당신의 얼굴을 보게 하소서.

Narrow is the mansion of my soul; enlarge Thou it, that Thou mayest enter in.

내 영혼의 집은 좁으니; 당신이 들어오실 수 있도록 그것을 넓혀 주소서.

It is ruinous; repair Thou it.

그것은 황폐하오니; 고쳐 주소서.

It has that within which must offend Thine eyes; I confess and know it.

그 안에는 당신의 눈을 불쾌하게 할 것이 있으니; 내가 이를 고백하고 알고 있나이다.

But who shall cleanse it? or to whom should I cry, save Thee?

그러나 누가 그것을 깨끗하게 하겠습니까? 당신 외에 내가 누구에게 부르짖겠습니까?

Lord, cleanse me from my secret faults, and spare Thy servant from the power of the enemy.

주님, 나의 은밀한 허물에서 나를 깨끗하게 하시고, 당신의 종을 원수의 권세에서 지켜 주소서.

I believe, and therefore do I speak.

내가 믿으므로 말하나이다.

Lord, Thou knowest.

주님, 당신은 아시나이다.

Have I not confessed against myself my transgressions unto Thee, and Thou, my God, hast forgiven the iniquity of my heart?

내가 나의 죄과를 당신께 고백하지 않았습니까, 그리고 나의 하나님이신 당신께서 내 마음의 죄악을 용서하지 않으셨습니까?

I contend not in judgment with Thee, who art the truth; I fear to deceive myself; lest mine iniquity lie unto itself.

진리이신 당신과 판결로 다투지 아니하나이다; 내가 나 자신을 속일까 두렵나이다; 내 죄악이 스스로 거짓말하지 않도록.

Therefore I contend not in judgment with Thee; for if Thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall abide it?

그러므로 내가 당신과 판결로 다투지 아니하나이다; 주님, 만일 당신이 죄악을 헤아리신다면, 오 주님, 누가 능히 서겠습니까?

Yet suffer me to speak unto Thy mercy, me, dust and ashes.

그러나 티끌과 재에 불과한 나로 하여금 당신의 자비를 향해 말하게 허락하소서.
