O Muses! O high genius! now vouchsafe

おお、詩神よ！おお、崇高なる霊感よ！今こそお与えください、

Your aid! O mind! that all I saw hast kept

その御助けを！おお、我が心よ！私が見たすべてを書き留めて、

Safe in a written record, here thy worth
