(d) Gasoline and Oil Fuel Tanks and fueling engines usually are accessible and easy to open. They afford a very vulnerable target for simple sabotage activities.

(1.) ガソリンエンジンの燃料タンクに、おがくずや米や小麦などの硬い穀粒をひとつまみ数杯入れること。

(1.) Put several pinches of sawdust or hard grain, such as rice or wheat, into the fuel tank of a gasoline engine.

粒子が燃料供給ラインを詰まらせ、エンジンが停止する。

The particles will choke a feed line so that the engine will stop.

トラブルの原因を発見するまでにある程度の時間がかかるだろう。

Some time will be required to discover the source of the trouble.

入手が難しいかもしれないが、古い輪ゴムや鉛筆の消しゴムなどに見られるような天然ゴムのかけらも効果的だ。

Although they will be hard to get, crumbs of natural rubber, such as you might find in old rubber bands and pencil erasers, are also effective.

(2) 砂糖を手に入れることができれば、ガソリンエンジンの燃料タンクに入れること。

(2) If you can accumulate sugar, put it in the fuel tank of a gasoline engine.

砂糖はガソリンとともに燃えると粘着性の塊になり、エンジンを完全に動けなくさせ、大規模な清掃と修理が必要になる。

As it burns together with the gasoline, it will turn into a sticky mess which will completely mire the engine and necessitate extensive cleaning and repair.

蜂蜜や糖蜜も砂糖と同様に効果がある。

Honey and molasses are as good as sugar.

ガソリン10ガロンにつき約75〜100グラムを使用するようにすること。

Try to use about 75–100 grams for each 10 gallons of gasoline.

(3) ガソリンに混入できるその他の不純物は、エンジンの急速な摩耗と最終的な故障を引き起こす。

(3) Other impurities which you can introduce into gasoline will cause rapid engine wear and eventual breakdown.

軽石の細かい粒子、砂、粉砕ガラス、金属粉などはガソリンタンクに簡単に混入することができる。

Fine particles of pumice, sand, ground glass, and metal dust can easily be introduced into a gasoline tank.

粒子がキャブレターのジェットを通過できるよう、非常に細かいものであることを確認すること。

Be sure that the particles are very fine, so that they will be able to pass through the carburetor jet.
