He sat with us, and let the sheep eat the grass.

그는 우리와 함께 앉아서 양들이 풀을 먹게 했습니다.

What fun it is to see lambs play!

새끼 양들이 노는 것을 보는 것은 정말 즐겁습니다!

It made us laugh to see them.

그것들을 보니 웃음이 났습니다.

The man said that once, when the sheep and lambs were out in the snow, an old wolf took one of the lambs, and ran off with it.

그 남자는 한번은 양들과 새끼 양들이 눈 속에 나가 있을 때 늙은 늑대가 새끼 양 한 마리를 잡아서 달아났다고 말했습니다.

I think that men should watch their sheep, so that a wolf can not catch them.

저는 늑대가 양들을 잡지 못하도록 사람들이 양들을 잘 지켜야 한다고 생각합니다.

Work while you work,

일할 때는 일하고,

Play while you play,

놀 때는 놀아라,

One thing each time,

한 번에 한 가지씩,

That is the way.

그것이 바른 방법이라네.

All that you do,

네가 하는 모든 일을,

Do with your might,

온 힘을 다해 하여라,

Things done by halves,

반쪽짜리로 끝낸 일들은,

Are not done right.

One day John went to the pond to fish.

어느 날 존은 낚시를 하러 연못에 갔습니다.

His dog, Watch, went with him.

그의 개 워치도 함께 갔습니다.

John sat on a log for a time, but did not catch a fish.

존은 잠시 통나무 위에 앉아 있었지만 물고기를 잡지 못했습니다.

As he got up to go, he fell off the log.

그가 일어나 가려고 할 때 통나무에서 떨어졌습니다.

Watch sprang in to save him.

워치는 그를 구하려고 뛰어들었습니다.

John put his arms round the dog's neck, and was soon safe on the log once more.

"Thank you, my brave old dog," said John to Watch.

The day is warm, and he lets his horse stand in the shade.
