For instance, after killing, it was his spectacles he wiped instead of his weapon.

—Johnny es un tipo silencioso —le recordó a Hook.

"Johnny's a silent fellow," he reminded Hook.

—Ahora no, Smee —dijo Hook con tono sombrío—. Él es solo uno, y quiero hacerles daño a los siete. Dispersaos y buscadlos.

"Not now, Smee," Hook said darkly. "He is only one, and I want to mischief all the seven. Scatter and look for them."

Los piratas desaparecieron entre los árboles, y en un momento su Capitán y Smee se quedaron solos.

The pirates disappeared among the trees, and in a moment their Captain and Smee were alone.

"Most of all," Hook was saying passionately, "I want their captain, Peter Pan. 'Twas he cut off my arm."

Blandió el garfio de manera amenazante.

He brandished the hook threateningly.

"I've waited long to shake his hand with this. Oh, I'll tear him!"

—Y aun así —dijo Smee—, muchas veces te he oído decir que ese garfio valía más que veinte manos, para peinarse el cabello y otros usos cotidianos.

"And yet," said Smee, "I have often heard you say that hook was worth a score of hands, for combing the hair and other homely uses."

—Sí —respondió el capitán—, si yo fuera madre rezaría para que mis hijos nacieran con esto en lugar de aquello.

"Ay," the captain answered, "if I was a mother I would pray to have my children born with this instead of that,"

Y lanzó una mirada de orgullo sobre su mano de hierro y una de desprecio sobre la otra.
