每个男孩都有冒险故事要讲；

Every boy had adventures to tell;

但也许所有冒险中最大的冒险，是他们比平时晚了好几个小时才上床睡觉。

but perhaps the biggest adventure of all was that they were several hours late for bed.

这让他们得意洋洋，于是想出各种狡猾的办法来拖延睡觉的时间，比如嚷嚷着要包扎绷带；

This so inflated them that they did various dodgy things to get staying up still longer, such as demanding bandages;

但温迪虽然为大家平安回家而欣喜若狂，却对这么晚的时辰感到十分震惊，

but Wendy, though glorying in having them all home again safe and sound, was scandalised by the lateness of the hour,

她用一种不容违抗的声音喊道："去睡觉，去睡觉！"

and cried, "To bed, to bed," in a voice that had to be obeyed.

然而第二天，她却温柔极了，给每个人都发了绷带，

Next day, however, she was awfully tender, and gave out bandages to every one,

大家一直玩到睡觉时间，装作一瘸一拐地走路，或是用吊带吊着胳膊。

and they played till bed-time at limping about and carrying their arms in slings.
