Pinocchio promises the Fairy to be good and to study, as he is growing tired of being a Marionette, and wishes to become a real boy.

If Pinocchio cried much longer, the little woman thought he would melt away, so she finally admitted that she was the little Fairy with Azure Hair.

Nếu Pinocchio còn khóc lâu hơn nữa, người phụ nữ nhỏ bé nghĩ rằng cậu sẽ tan chảy mất, vì vậy cuối cùng bà thừa nhận rằng bà chính là Cô Tiên Tóc Xanh Biếc.

"You rascal of a Marionette! How did you know it was I?" she asked, laughing.

"Đồ tinh quái con Rối! Làm sao cậu biết đó là ta?" bà hỏi, vừa cười.

"My love for you told me who you were."

"Tình yêu của con dành cho mẹ đã cho con biết mẹ là ai."

"Do you remember? You left me when I was a little girl and now you find me a grown woman. I am so old, I could almost be your mother!"

"Cậu có nhớ không? Cậu đã rời bỏ ta khi ta còn là một cô bé và bây giờ cậu thấy ta đã là một người phụ nữ trưởng thành. Ta già đến mức gần như có thể làm mẹ cậu rồi!"

"I am very glad of that, for then I can call you mother instead of sister. For a long time I have wanted a mother, just like other boys. But how did you grow so quickly?"

"Con rất vui vì điều đó, vì như vậy con có thể gọi mẹ là mẹ thay vì chị. Từ lâu con đã muốn có một người mẹ, giống như những cậu bé khác. Nhưng mẹ đã lớn nhanh như vậy bằng cách nào?"

"That's a secret!"

"Đó là bí mật!"

"Tell it to me. I also want to grow a little. Look at me! I have never grown higher than a penny's worth of cheese."

"Hãy nói cho con biết. Con cũng muốn lớn thêm một chút. Hãy nhìn con này! Con chưa bao giờ cao hơn một mẩu phô mai đáng một xu."

"But you can't grow," answered the Fairy.

"Nhưng cậu không thể lớn được," Cô Tiên trả lời.

"Why not?"

"Tại sao không?"

"Because Marionettes never grow. They are born Marionettes, they live Marionettes, and they die Marionettes."

"Vì những con Rối không bao giờ lớn. Chúng sinh ra là Rối, sống là Rối, và chết cũng là Rối."

"Oh, I'm tired of always being a Marionette!" cried Pinocchio disgustedly. "It's about time for me to grow into a man as everyone else does."

"Ôi, con chán việc luôn luôn là một con Rối rồi!" Pinocchio kêu lên với vẻ chán ghét. "Đã đến lúc con phải lớn lên thành người như mọi người khác."

"And you will if you deserve it--"

"Và cậu sẽ được như vậy nếu cậu xứng đáng--"

"Really? What can I do to deserve it?"

"Thật không? Con phải làm gì để xứng đáng?"

"It's a very simple matter.
