Suddenly round a corner, she met Babbitty Bumble--"Zizz, Bizz, Bizzz!" said the bumble bee.
突然、曲がり角で彼女はバビティ・バンブルに出会った――「ジズ、ビズ、ビズズ！」とマルハナバチは言った。
Mrs. Tittlemouse looked at her severely.

"Good-day, Babbitty Bumble; I should be glad to buy some beeswax.

Why do you always come in at a window, and say Zizz, Bizz, Bizzz?"

Mrs. Tittlemouse began to get cross.
ティトルマウス夫人はだんだん腹が立ってきた。
"Zizz, Wizz, Wizzz!" replied Babbitty Bumble in a peevish squeak.
「ジズ、ウィズ、ウィズズ！」とバビティ・バンブルは不機嫌な甲高い声で答えた。
She sidled down a passage, and disappeared into a storeroom which had been used for acorns.
彼女はこそこそと通路を進み、どんぐりを入れておく物置に消えていった。
Mrs. Tittlemouse had eaten the acorns before Christmas; the storeroom ought to have been empty.
ティトルマウス夫人はクリスマス前にどんぐりを食べてしまっていたので、その物置は空のはずだった。
But it was full of untidy dry moss.

Mrs. Tittlemouse began to pull out the moss.
ティトルマウス夫人は苔を引っ張り出し始めた。
Three or four other bees put their heads out, and buzzed fiercely.

"I am not in the habit of letting lodgings; this is an intrusion!" said Mrs. Tittlemouse.

"I will have them turned out--" "Buzz! Buzz! Buzzz!"--"I wonder who would help me?" "Bizz, Wizz, Wizzz!"
「追い出してもらわなくては――」「ブン！ブン！ブンン！」――「誰が助けてくれるかしら？」「ビズ、ウィズ、ウィズズ！」
--"I will not have Mr. Jackson; he never wipes his feet."
――「ジャクソンさんだけはお断り。あの人はちっとも足を拭かないんだから。」
Mrs. Tittlemouse decided to leave the bees till after dinner.
ティトルマウス夫人は夕食が済んでから蜂の問題を片付けることにした。
When she got back to the parlour, she heard some one coughing in a fat voice; and there sat Mr. Jackson himself!
居間に戻ると、太った声で咳をしている者の音が聞こえた。するとそこには、なんとジャクソンさん本人が座っていた！
