The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin — Page 2

English → Tr Full Text Level 1/10

Then Twinkleberry and the other little squirrels each made a low bow, and said politely--

Sonra Twinkleberry ve diğer küçük sincapların her biri kibarca eğildi ve nazikçe şöyle dedi:

"Old Mr. Brown, will you favour us with permission to gather nuts upon your island?"

"Sayın Bay Brown, adasınızda fındık toplamamıza izin verme lütfunda bulunur musunuz?"

But Nutkin was excessively impertinent in his manners.

Ancak Nutkin tavırlarında son derece küstah davranıyordu.

He bobbed up and down like a little red _cherry_, singing--

Küçük kırmızı bir _kiraz_ gibi aşağı yukarı zıplayarak şarkı söylüyordu:

"Riddle me, riddle me, rot-tot-tote! A little wee man, in a red red coat! A staff in his hand, and a stone in his throat; If you'll tell me this riddle, I'll give you a groat."

"Bul bakalım, bul bakalım, bul hele! Kıpkırmızı paltolu minicik bir adam! Elinde bir asa, boğazında bir taş; Bu bilmeceyi çözersen, sana bir madeni para veririm."

Now this riddle is as old as the hills; Mr. Brown paid no attention whatever to Nutkin.

Bu bilmece dağlar kadar eskidir; Bay Brown Nutkin'e hiç aldırmadı.

He shut his eyes obstinately and went to sleep.

İnatla gözlerini kapadı ve uyudu.

The squirrels filled their little sacks with nuts, and sailed away home in the evening.

Sincaplar küçük çuvallarını fındıkla doldurdu ve akşam eve doğru yola çıktı.

But next morning they all came back again to Owl Island; and Twinkleberry and the others brought a fine fat mole, and laid it on the stone in front of Old Brown's doorway, and said--

Ama ertesi sabah hepsi yeniden Baykuş Adası'na döndü; Twinkleberry ve diğerleri güzel, şişman bir köstebek getirdi ve onu Yaşlı Brown'ın kapısının önündeki taşın üzerine koyarak şöyle dedi:

"Mr. Brown, will you favour us with your gracious permission to gather some more nuts?"

"Bay Brown, daha fazla fındık toplamamıza lütufkâr izninizi verir misiniz?"

But Nutkin, who had no respect, began to dance up and down, tickling old Mr. Brown with a _nettle_ and singing--

Ama hiç saygısı olmayan Nutkin, yaşlı Bay Brown'ı bir _ısırgan otu_ ile gıdıklayarak aşağı yukarı dans etmeye ve şarkı söylemeye başladı:

"Old Mr. B! Riddle-me-ree! Hitty Pitty within the wall, Hitty Pitty without the wall; If you touch Hitty Pitty, Hitty Pitty will bite you!"

"Yaşlı Bay B! Bil bakalım! Hitty Pitty duvarın içinde, Hitty Pitty duvarın dışında; Hitty Pitty'ye dokunursan, Hitty Pitty seni ısırır!"

Mr. Brown woke up suddenly and carried the mole into his house.

Bay Brown birden uyandı ve köstebeği evine taşıdı.

He shut the door in Nutkin's face.

Nutkin'in yüzüne kapıyı kapattı.
